Windmilling Wales - Carno Protest 2007.

Tarian Glyndŵr - Defend our Heritage in the Landscape.

On 8th July, Pobl Glyndŵr participated in a protest against the despoilation of our landscape with the ''Industrial Furniture'' of Windmills. Click on to the link below to view a video of the protest on 'You Tube'.

Embassy Glyndŵr staff and supporters participated in this protest - and will endeavour to support other such protests to bring to an end this unnecessary polluting of our Cymric landscape with useless wind turbines as we consider such to be an important part of our 'Tarian Glyndŵr - Defend our Heritage in the Landscape campaign' See our earlier posting entitled 'Our Sacred Hills'.

The argument that has been peddled is that these windmills are an alternative source of sustainable energy and that they bring economic advantages to the communities they colonise but, this is more and more being disproved.

The Case against Windfarms.
Dr John Etherington, former Reader in Ecology at the University of Wales has written a detailed reference and authoritive demolition of the 'case for windfarms'. To read this informative report in full, please visit the Country Guardian web site at www.countryguardian.net
