CROESO I OWAIN GLYNDWR COMMUNICATES 2008.

At long last, we have a Glyndŵr statue worthy of our National Hero, and, at long last, it has been placed in Corwen, 97 years after the 1911 Investiture cairn placed atop Pen y Pigyn above the town. I am told that the former Glyndŵr statue, yes, him - the poor ''Dwarf in Wellingtons'' is also to be exiled to Pen y Pigyn in the near future. Why not place him atop that 1911 cairn? It would be kind of symbolic! Whatever, our thanks to all involved in the creation and placement of the new and iconic image of our national hero. All we need to do now is to ensure that, over the years ahead, 1000's of our people go to Corwen in person, and with families or community groups - on days out or weekend breaks, to see the statue. And, hopefully now, Patriots will gather around the statue annually in Rallying - Commemoration of 16 Medi 1400, the anniversary of the date upon which the last Great War of National Liberation was launched. If there is one place that we need to see a great and significant annual patriotic celebratory rally established, then it is here in Corwen on and around 16 Medi - 'Dydd Glyndŵr'.

One of the best ways to ensure that an icon becomes an unforgettable image is by means of constant use, more often as not, in silhouette fashion. See below as an example - and feel free to use. It would be nice if you credited source, but I am not going to insist on that this time, as the end purpose of promoting information of our national hero along with promotion of the existence of the statue in Corwen is more important. The statue is well worth seeing and why not have a photograph taken standing by it. Something historical to pass on in families.

NB: Those of you who wish, could even create your own T-Shirt design from below via local 'instant Screen Print' shops or even via your PC? Again, I do not mind individuals doing this so long as its not for commercial profit gain, as that would undermine any local Corwen interests whom may wish to produce their own souvenirs. So, play fair!

My time, this year, will need to be devoted to an outstanding major project of consolidating all our efforts and endevours since 1999, in a Gwlad Glyndŵr - Cymru Initiative. Many posts to the Cenedl Glyndŵr blog this year will be concerned with this new revitalised initiative.
