28 May 1354 OWAIN GLYNDŴR'S BIRTH DAY - 28 MAY 2010 Rise Up The Flag For Our Last, Present and Future Prince of Wales and keep it flying high........

Yes, for those of you who did not know, tomorrow (Mai 28th) is our Prince's birthday. Owain Glyndŵr was born on 28 Mai 1354.
..
The 'Son of Prophecy' was born at Sycharth although, Penfro also claims that he was born at Trefgarne Owen. Whichever was the case, he was descended from the Princes of Powys on his father's side and from the Princes of Powys on the side of his mother.

..
. Family links with Gwynedd were weak but Glyndŵr sought Welsh royal rights by claiming descent from the Gwynedd Royal Families, and recognised Gwynedd as the Gwlad of the 'High' Kings and Princes of Wales. Thus, yes, the Four Lions Rampant 'Baner Glyndŵr' was inspired by 'Baner Llywelyn' the last Prince of Gwynedd and 'Pura Wallia but, Glyndŵr wished to make it absolutely clear that he was seeking to be a native Prince for all of Wales and not just those areas that were once under the authority of 'Baner Llywelyn' so he adapted the 'Llywelyn Baner' to display the four 'passive lions' as being 'rampant' so, logic follows surely, that if we are to be absolutely true to Glyndŵr's cause for an all Wales independent of English rule, then we must one and all accept that the only true baner for such a cause is the 'Four Lions Rampant' of Owain Glyndŵr.
.
.

.Llysgenhadaeth Glyndŵr has been actively promoting the flying of Baneri Glyndŵr since we were established in 1998. It is now flown widely on Dydd Glyndŵr - 16 Medi annually by national institutions such as the Welsh Assembly, the Millennium Stadium, County and Town Councils, Universities, the National Library and other Libraries, Castles, schools and on the homes of individual patriots throughout Wales and beyond. I addition, many businesses such as hotels, pubs, caravan, holiday parks and, indeed, whole streets of shops in towns such as the towns of Pwllheli, Caernarfon, Porthmadog, Penrhyndeudraeth, Dolgellau and Machynlleth now display seas of 'Baner Glyndŵr' throughout the summer months.
.

Llysgenhadaeth Glyndŵr presented the National Eisteddfod with a gigantic embroidered heavy duty Baner Glyndŵr (such as the one that we presented to the National Assembly in 2001) in time for the Newport National Eisteddfod in 2004 and without any doubt, this colourful flag now steals the show above any other that can be seen flying above the main pavilion annually. As it proudly flies above the pavilion, its all commanding, making a statement "that we are a nation - and always will be whilst I fly above you". How could any Welsh patriot fail to sense the presence of Glyndŵr under such an awesome sight.
.

Yes, the last twelve years of campaigning to re-reinstate 'Baner Glyndŵr' to its rightful status has borne a reasonable crop but we must now, as Welsh patriots, all work together - all over Wales to ensure that streets of shops, hotels and pubs in every town follows the example of the towns aforementioned in regards to the flying of Baner Glyndŵr' on their businesses throughout the summer months - at least. We must ensure that every castle and stately home, whether they be in the care of Cadw,The National Trust or Local Authorities do likewise. We must all also campaign vigorously for all and every official body in Wales to fly 'Baner Glyndŵr' on two other 'Glyndŵr Days' annually, they being :
.

.21 June - 'Dydd y Senedd' to commemorate the all important event in 1404, when after only four years of waging a highly successful war of national Liberation, a Free Wales parliament - Senedd Cenedl Glyndŵr - was established in Machynlleth. At this Senedd, Owain Glyndŵr was crowned Owain IV 'Tywysog Cymru. Since 2004, Embassy Glyndŵr has had an on-going campaign for this day to be recognised and celebrated throughout Wales - and due to our persistence, the date is now observed annually in Machynlleth with the holding of ceremonies in recognition and to celebrate 'Dydd Coroni Glyndŵr' and 'Dydd Sofraniaeth'. Again, it is time for Welsh patriots throughout Wales to follow Machynlleth's leading by the observing of 21 - Dydd y Senedd as being one of the most important dates in our calendar.
.

We can report that efforts continue in Machynlleth to establish a major 'Gŵyl Dathlu Coroni Owain Glyndŵr' which is to take place annually on the established Dydd y Senedd weekend. This year, the 'Gŵyl' is to take place between the 17 - 19 Mehefin. Full details in next blog posting.
.

Further note, also on 19 Mehefin, Cefn Caer, Pennal - 'National Repository of Restored Native Honours of Wales' will this year be inaugurating a 'Gardd Arwyr Glyndŵr' and will be once again participating in the annual delivering of the restored 'Coron Glyndŵr' to Machynlleth to place on public display. Again, full details of both the aforementioned events will be in the next post but, in the meantime, Please put this date and memo detail in your diaries, so you do not forever kick yourselves for forgetting to come to Machynlleth on and about this historic Glyndŵr Rememberance weekend.
.

16 Medi - 'Declaration Day': The day we celebrate as our 'National Hero Day', to celebrate events that took place at Glyndyfrdwy on 16 Medi 1400 when Owain Glyndŵr was chosen by his people as the rightful prince to lead an united Wales. Such was a declaration that also made it clear that those at Llys Glyndyfrdwy on this day were more than prepared to courageously commit themselves to a war of national liberation in order to restore Welsh Freedom and re-establish an Independent Nation. These men have been well described by Llysgenhadaeth Glyndŵr as our nation's 'Founding Fathers'.
.
Back to... WHY IT HAS TO BE 'BANER GLYNDŴR ABOVE ANY OTHER!

.
Baner Glyndŵr is the only true historic flag of Wales, in use from about 1402. The illustration you see left was the bannerette used by Henry Tudor at Bosworth, later to be adapted by Lloyd George for the 1911 Investiture of an English prince as Prince of Wales.
.

For those that have been brainwashed and conditioned to accept the Lloyd George 'Draig Goch', please refer to my previous posts on this blog for the historical truth relating to this flag and also, do note the Cross of St George that's attached to Henry Tudor's bannerette flag (above) and, do well to remember that Henry did more than just forge and unite symbolism on a bannerette, he wasted no time in creating the 'Act of Union' in 1536 to annexe Wales to England as part of his 'United Kingdom' empire building. This 'Act', created by Henry. Clearly diminished any lasting aspirations that the Welsh had, at the time, to re-establish the national Independence fought for for so long and so hard by Owain Glyndŵr and the Cymry.
.
.

.So, whose flag do you really want to fly under? An adaptation of the flag of a greedy Anglo - Franco - Welsh King adapted by another Welsh traitor for another English investiture of an English Prince of Wales or, the 'Four Lions Rampant', the flag of a true Welsh patriot Prince and warrior leader who sacrificed everything for his nation and his people? I know which one I would choose - and have chosen. yes! Owain Glyndŵr, Owain IV 'Tywysog Cymru', our last, present and future Prince of Wales.
.

Someone once moaned to me "but the Red Dragon is recognised world wide as a Welsh Flag", So, that makes it allright then does it? NOT IF WE WANT TO CONTINUE TO SAY THAT WE ARE FIGHTING FOR OUR INDEPENDENCE - AND INDEED - OUR EXISTANCE AS A WELSH NATION! IF WE ARE TO WIN, WE HAVE TO BE CONSISTENT IN MAKING AN EFFORT WITH THIS IMPORTANT ISSUE. WE CANNOT SAY WE WANT INDEPENDENCE AND THEN ACT LIKE "SHONIS POB OCHR"
.
Again, we must look at the courage and dedication of others to their cause. Let's look at just one example: A newly Independent South Africa changed their flag and got rid of the old 'Apartheid' associated South African flag and with Rugby World Cup coming up, go and see the film INVICTUS to see how rugby with a new South African flag inspired greater patriotic pride and national unity. So if any of you are going to the Rugby World Cup, remember to take your 'Baner Glyndŵr' to wave and not that 'other flag' that is only representitive of old 'Brit Taff' Cambrianism.
. .
And dont forget to sew the badge below over the 'twll din" feather duster on your rugby shirt before you wear it. Send for them from me for £2 + a small sae.

.

.This blog post is dedicated to the two young girls of Gwynedd who had great courage on

27 - 04 - 2010 to fly high their 'Baner Glyndŵr' under Eleanors Gate, Caernarfon Castle in protest against the English Quuen's visit to that town to, once again, show contempt towards our history and to yet, again, publically claim English Soverighty over our country.
